The Happy Years end of Chapter 2 seems like a good place to pause and pretend things are/stay happy (I’ve seen reels, I know this book emotionally destroys people, I knew that going in)

I’m audiobook-ing it right now, and my loan expires tomorrow. I think this may be a much needed break, or perhaps I can pretend that the story ends with these two characters finding happiness with each other.

Dear lord this book is so much and so heavy. I’m so invested in Wil and Jude that I probably must finish this book, but I’m 60% through and this section of the book is called “The Happy Years” and there’s TWO WHOLE OTHER SECTIONS AFTER IT?!? How much more can this book break my heart???

Jesus Christ “A Series of Unfortunate Events” ain’t got nothing on this tragic story. Also, why are characters named Caleb just the Worst™️ in novels?

So far this story is beautiful, but I feel like a person who watches a horror story and tells at the characters to not split up or go down the dark hallway.

…. Jude is going to break my heart, isn’t he?
