Do white men know how to write any kind of science fiction other than nerd wish fulfillment? Filled with thinly veiled misogyny and lazy writing?

Terrible. The writing is bad enough, but the breathy narration of the audiobook tips it way over the edge for me.

Right. So I didn’t notice in the first book but classic diamond in the rough/geek made god self-congratulatory/masturbatory narrative… with a heavy dollop of sci-fi style misogyny and a smaller dollop of eugenics/western-style intelligence-supremacy.
I’m so frustrated bc I love the story and premise and in no way does it to be told in the way it is.
