I’m wasn’t sure how I felt about this, but overall I think I really liked it. There was one character (a very disturbing character) that made me really dislike the book but there was a satisfying end for him. There’s a lot to discuss in book club!

Really really long! Too long! A close story to Prince William and Catherine and Harry.

I’m struggling to get through this book. I understand the point of racism and how to fight against it and interested to see how this is playing out within the links. But the violence is overwhelming for me. I’m also not connecting with the characters. Taking a break and will come back and finish it.

Almost 4 hours in and not sure can finish. Waiting to hear this woman isn’t as obnoxious, narcissistic, and self-centered as she sounds. Some growth and introspection needs to happen quickly!

I appreciated the book more after listening to the author’s interview at the end.

Selfishness, greed, denial, self interest, etc. a long book but thoroughly researched.

Omg this book is terribly racist. I understand she’s writing from a time frame of the 20’s and that’s how they talked but I cringe at any white woman writing such things. Maybe at the end they’ll figure out how they refer to blacks wasn’t okay! Doubtful though

My type A personality won’t let me not finish a book. It is well written, but horribly boring.

Can you say, “he said” any more times in one breath!!! Interesting concept for book. Simple writing. Young adults can handle more than “he said” 10 times in 3 seconds!!
