Why do I find myself wanting to fight this book? Like it’s good, but there’s something that makes me so viscerally upset while listening to the audio version. I’m probably going to switch to the written version to see if this disdain goes away.

I’m finding it difficult to care about this one. The last have been zippy and fun. I’m not sure what it is about this book that has me dragging my feet. Maybe it’s the dramatised adaptation?

The bit about ichorite being placed into fabric and cosmetics and marketed to the common place people as *accessible luxury* is giving fast fashion but fantasy version.

I’m a little irritated that there’s this random drop of lore about the faiths… a lore drop that would have been helpful closer to the beginning of the book.
