What a poorly written, meandering mess this has been so far. The opening chapters should have been 2 instead of seven. The editor must have been on an extended smoke break for this section. “We were a crew. Brothers, really. You know, like the tight-knit group of kids in a Stephen King novel.” Papi, you are not Stephen King! At least the action’s finally started.
