what an impossible read

70 percent through, we still didn't get any new hints about the gentlemen. We are still teased with suspicion whether or not it was Kajii at all, instead we are diving head-first into Reiko's mental wellbeing regression. This book made me want to DNF it more than a couple of times, but after 70% I just won't give up as easy as it can sound.

I’m listening to this one, was intending to read/listen to it after absolutely loving The Lost Apothecary. I recognize the narration, but to be honest, I wouldn’t be able to actually read it. It is long and sometimes unnecessarily descriptive. But it feels good to go with the flow anyways.

What an unusual read.
It goes in waves - the fist 20% was an easy flow, not much happening, but not necessarily a DNF, as it still made me feel to want to flip the page and read one more chapter, one after another.
Now approximately halfway through it feels that we are being rewarded for our patience by sudden twists or unthinkable bits once in every 50-60 pages.
And a lot of food descriptions.
