This sequel is going much faster than the first book did for me!

Okay, I see now why the author has the sex shaming in her world as a
plot device, but the MC and her bf still behaved and spoke like idiots.

Now, the clans have had a high meeting among the clan leaders and the clan mistresses. The MC's honor was impugned via a lie by bad guy. The MC (truthfully) denies, but no one believes her. Why aren't the clan mistresses saying,"Hol' up! Why aren't we believing her?"

This book was clipping along quite enjoyably as a fantasy, and then the main character had sex with her childhood crush. Now, everyone are behaving as idiots, and there's sex shaming to boot. It has become a stereotypical Romance novel with the 2-dimensional relationship issues for which Romance novels are known. This is gonna cost the author a star.

Needs more magic. Needs less sex shaming.

This may be the best book I read this year!

The premise is hokey:

Historical Fiction of the post Civil War Reconstruction years with a twist: ZOMBIES.

Zombies started to rise from the dead in the aftermath of the Battle of Gettysburg.

IKR? I'm not even a fan of zombie movies and books, but this one is so well written and so clear in its world-creation, it is easy to fall in love with the characters!

Still. So. Boring.

Author cannot decide whether she wants to write a novel or a treatise on Christianity.

So.Fucking. Boring.

No plot. No direction.

It won a Pulitzer, but I'm not impressed.

This author needs to learn to edit her work to remove everything unnecessary... which kinda seems to be...nearly everything..

So scary, I had to take a break from reading it.

When I first started reading this book, the unlikelihood of some of the situations bothered me.

Example: Someone is shot after an argument with a Nazi enforcer in the street, and NO ONE ELSE HEARS???? NO ONE LOOKS OUT THEIR WINDOW?

By this point of the book, I realize that the author has a history of tv comedy work; it is a book meant to be funny; and I am just letting go of reality to go along for the ride!

I've read 2 of this short book's 6 Installments. Each was written in a compelling manner...and ended in a very disturbing way.

I can't wait to see what's next!
