Honest to goodness, the narrators of this book make me cackle out loud. Natalie Duke's southern drawl voice and her drunken hillbilly voice bring me glee.

Bahaha! The fact they bought the rights to play and sing A-Ha with the gory battle happening in the background. Also what can't Jeff Hays do?!

I actually have no idea what page I'm on since it's audio, but I'm struggling with the repetitiveness of this one. I was really hoping for less cruelty focus, less introduction of characters, and more wide world explanation by now.

What's with the out of pocket narrator intros at the top of each chapter? Is it the house?

I'm listening to this so I have no idea what percentage I'm done. Whatever end of chapter 2 is. I don't know if I'll continue. This is a weird Lovecraft like book (emphasis on weird) and I'm not jiving with the characters or my outsider perspective of NY. I will say that the narrator is INCREDIBLE, probably one of the best I've ever heard. Back to the shelf for now.

Aurora is sooo naive and almost childlike that it's giving me the ick.
(The chapters are written almost episodic with each and every one with a "I've never been touched by a man" disclaimer, if not verbatim, and I find myself yelling out loud, WE KNOW!)

This may be the MOST satisfying "who did this to you" in the history of who did this to yous...
