This one is so good that I'm forcing myself to not stay up half the night to finish it. I'm not going to want the series to end 😓

You cannot convince me this book isn't sponsored by Tourism Prague...

The first book was fantasy with a slight romantic sub plot. This one is the opposite. I REALLY hope the second half of this book flops back to the fantasy and y'know, the WAR. It's still good but I'm pretty disappointed that this isn't just a side character novella.

I can already tell this is going to be my favourite series ever. (I hope)

I'm finally going to finish this today, I'm sure of it! (Despite saying that for the last 30+ days...)

I've kind of lost the plot at this point, literally. Like I don't know what his endgame is here. Also it sounds so much like Red Rising that I have to catch myself sometimes.

I've been reading this book seemingly forever. I don't know why I keep setting it down because it's good! Is it maybe megalomaniac rulers starting wars for vanity on the page mirroring real life? Yeah probably that...

Honestly, I forget I'm even "reading" this until it comes on in the car. I don't know that grisly death and potential serial killing counts as a cozy mystery and the cinnamon is for the trees not autumn drinks. Sneaky marketing this season haha

This is a very weird, kind of amusing story. I'll be honest, I can't keep track of all the names...

Sigh...this one might be a dnf. It's lyrical Anne Rice, meets feminine rage but I think vampires just don't float my boat.
It'll go back on the shelf for now.

The main character in the main story is insufferable. Her motivations make zero sense, I'm on the side of all the people telling her to mind her own business...
I'm sticking around for the story in the story.

I'm on chapter 7 and I think I should abandon the audiobook. I loathe the narrator's male voice. It sounds like a parody and it's ruining the story.

I'm having a really hard time getting into this one. So far the world building is just cruelty with a side of magic.

I'll be honest, if the copy I have had the cover above I would've never picked it...

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated with a story...I find myself physically yelling OUT LOUD at the book "KILL THEM. KILL THEM ALL" I will have to think about what this means about me...😂

This first person narrative is hard to get into for a mystery...I feel like a ghost is relaying me information.

Audiobook. I really don't like that the narrator of this book sounds like they have a stuffed up nose and makes mouth smacking noises so this has been a tough story to get through...
