Cool so far, more so than I was expecting, to be completely honest.

The Magic system, while still a bit vague this early into the story, is interesting if not a tad bit derivative of The Wheel of Time (a school of magical youth in training, drawing on some nebulous power, ie “the essence”, in order to do magic, feared and looked upon as social outcasts by the rest of society, etc).

Started in on ROTK, continuing my re-read of the trilogy for the first time in almost 25 years.

Continuing my LOTR re-read, my first time revisiting the trilogy since 7th grade.
