I must document that I am skipping a lot of boring gun fights in this book this far. The listing of ever weapon in play is tiresome.

It took 68 pages for this to reduce me to a sobbing puddle on the floor.

I just want to note that it is a joy to read a book of this genre that isn't some kind of 'healing journey' for a change and is instead about the pure joy of place. That place is also my favourite place and discovering that living there IS as romantic as I always assumed is breaking my heart, where it sits land locked in faraway Stockport town. I am furious.

I can't not have a small grumble about the fact that this book keeps calling flying horses Pegasi, PEGASUS IS JUST ONE FLYING HORSES NAME NOT THE NAME OF THE ENTIRE SPECIES.

Re-read because I feel dreadful and as always, only QC understands.

Imagine casually reading a book from the library be, when suddenly a chapter is set in your hometown and you're walking over the Grafton Bridge on your way to get a coffee on K road but also sat on your couch in the north of England. Good grief.

I bought this to read on a windswept holiday on a Scottish island and am instead reading it in bed on my day off six months later. It's so far perfect stormy day with a coffee reading.
