Having a crappy week? There was a Darcy hand flex for that.

and it is sad, of course, to forget.

Aled asks me for my library card.
"I don't have one."
His face crumples like I've just revealed he has ten days to live.
"Did you lose it?"
"Nope. I just don't have one."
Aled shakes his head in disbelief… "Wow. Well, this is an exciting day for you and me both. A library card is a portal, if you will, into any universe you can imagine. Oh, the adventures you will have, eh?"

Nervous is a neighbor to worry, and worry is an emotional state that I abhor. It tends to be self absorbed and short sighted, and holds no purpose other than to waste energy and distract the mind from what actually matters.

A few pages in and the way he writes and describes things is scratching a place in my brain that I didn't know was itchy.
