I’m enjoying the pacing! I love the dual povs of the two sisters, and seeing what they’re going through. They are so much complexities to consider, so much to learn, so much to appreciate.

I really enjoy how the author illustrates both perspectives of the sisters. While their thoughts are contrasting, none is “superior” to one another. They both make sense, have their pros and cons. Vianne is considerate of the peace and safety of her family, while Isabelle is concerned of the injustice and occupation of France by the Germans.
