Low Men in Yellow Coats:

In a strange way this feels to me like King's Twin Peaks. In Twin Peaks we get to see Lynch's death of the American dream. The slow dissolution of the idealist suburbia. Here we see that displayed through the incoming storm that is Vietnam. King's destruction of suburbia comes not from the death of a neighbor but from the death of your trust in them. Incredibly effecting and heartbreaking.

To be honest, I'm fully just reading this to fully appreciate Percival Everett's James. But hopefully I can learn to appreciate this, cause right now.... rough.

Wow. So I now understand why everyone was saying you just have to get through The Gunslinger. I actually quite liked The Gunslinger but… wow… this is so baller. It is impossible for me to put this down. In every respect this is such an insane improvement of what came before. So so excited to see where this is headed!

Due to the immense size of this book I will sadly have to part ways with King for the week as it simply won’t fit in my luggage. I am devastated and simply not okay. But I will luckily have Mr. Adams to keep me company.
