This book is highly rated but I think Romantasy might not be for me. I’m not really interested in the antics of 18 year olds. Also, the set up so far is very predictable: sexy young girl with WILD hair who is a GREAT fighter but in no way butchy who is *special* and can’t decide if she should marry the hot, powerful, kind, perfect boyfriend or follow the man with the “dark eyes”.

Why does he keep growling into her mouth. Also his room smells like paper, leather and clove yet it’s a total mess with clothes everywhere and she tells him she likes the mess. Ooookay.

Not sure what’s wrong here, maybe the person reading the audiobook? But I can’t bring myself to care what’s going on. I thought maybe if I just gave it time but I’m almost 70% through it. I’ve been powering through for a very long time and still don’t care.

How are they staying in this city for 100 years with no one questioning why they haven’t aged? It’s been mentioned that they are friendly with neighbors and others. So there’s certainly people who would realize that two people living in the same house haven’t aged at all in 60 years.

I got about 4% in and had to DNF. Is this YA? Or maybe written by a teenager. Just a few, very juvenile phrases: “Jean leggings”, “let out an EPIC sigh”, “he was young-ish, maybe 26 or 27”.

I think these friends actually hate each other. It’s very corny and “hacky”. On the verge of DNFing
