Umsonst leben

Wow!
So wunderschön, dass ich nie wieder ein geschriebenes Wort lesen möchte, dass nicht von Clarice Lispector geschrieben wurde.

Was würde mich am meisten an Nyx deprimieren? Ich glaube, die Abhängigkeit, dass man keine eigenen Entscheidungen treffen kann und sich absolut an dem Zeitplan von Nyx halten muss.

Was würde ich an der Erde vermissen?

So ganz am Anfang des Buches finde ich es spannend, mir selbst ein paar Fragen zu stellen:
Welche Musik würde ich nach Nyx mitnehmen?
Würde mich die Vorstellung nach Nyx zu reisen ansprechen? Und wenn ja, wieso?

Bei Iris habe ich bisher das Gefühl, dass sie einfach Handy Entzug brauchte und evtl. einen neuen Job. Generell kommt mir die Reise egoistisch vor, alle (Probleme) hinter sich zu lassen.

Das scheint mir eine wichtige Passage, aber ich verstehe sie nicht so richtig...

Some say people who join cults are "lost". But all human beings are lost to some degree. Das Kapitel über thought-terminating clichés kommt mir sehr sinnvoll vor. Dass 'brainwashing' kein hilfreicher Begriff ist, um Fragen auf den Grund zu gehen, wird ja schon zu Beginn geschildert, spätestens jetzt kann ich das ernsthaft nachvollziehen.

Begegnungskater

Ich habe nicht das Gefühl, Ellie oder Margot wirklich kennenzulernen. Margot scheint ganz sympathisch zu sein (viel mehr kann ich zu ihr nicht sagen) und Elie ist zwar eine coole Figur, wie sie sich aber ständig beschwert, im Haus helfen zu müssen, ist anstrengend. Geschirr spülen ist wirklich keine Zumutung.

Der Monolog

Ich finde es toll, wie sie sich in einen Hund verwandelt, aber man nicht sicher ist, ob es stimmt. Das gehört zu dem 'unbelievable', wovon WW schreibt.
Und wie die Mütter, zu Hunden verwandelt zu ihr kommen und mit ihrem Kind spielen... Es ist mir ziemlich egal, ob das die Realität des Buches ist oder nicht, die Idee an sich finde ich faszinierend. (Nicht, dass es das erste Mal ist, dass jemand diese Idee hatte.)

Der erste Satz!!!

I feel like the Book could've been called The Hungry Heart.
It's not that much about Cleo and Frank, and what I love about it while reading is how miserable everyone is and how totally different the people around see them.
That reminds me a little of Girl, Woman, Other. I was so surprised by how different the characters seemed, depending on the perspective.
Everyone is so loveable and pitiful.

Don't read page 186 if you don't want to ruin your day!
