Finished The Shadow of the Torturer. Confused does not begin to describe my current jumble of thoughts. Incredible atmosphere, strange plot turns, and a pretty unlikable protagonist, but for some reason I'm still on board! This book is known to be one you have to read once just to prepare yourself to read it again and then you might understand it, so we'll see where I land after The Claw of the Conciliator.

Updating only to say I met Christopher Ruocchio tonight and can't wait to see what he has in store for Hadrian.

This book claims to be *only* 780 pages, but the font is so small and the margins so thin that it reads like a 1200 page behemoth.

I've never been more excited about politics.
