I can clearly see what people are saying about the book being one long lecture on etymology but I think personally because I’m so passionate about learning and studying linguistics myself, it’s just another way for me to appreciate this book even more.

Everything about this story has been so addictive. I’ll be sad to finish.

It feels like the perfect balance of mysticism and realism that gets me invested in every detail of the story. It reminds me of a time when I saw the world covered in ice and silent falling snow, dark forests and insatiable curiosity mixed with a muted voice in the back of my mind telling me to be cautious. A world of beautiful quiet little sentient beings hidden within a world of rare and fading sunbeam moments.
