Honestly this book just makes me happy. Rocky is the cutest.

This series, and more so this book, are emotionally destroying me.

After ending Red Rising feeling optimistic but kinda meh, I did NOT expect to enjoy this so much right away. Very happy I gave into the hype and recommendations to keep going!

How could I have forgotten how beautifully descriptive Rachel's writing is? Every sentence somehow feels majestic.

I was obsessed with Interview with the Vampire as a kid so maybe that's explaining my insane joy while reading this. Dark, depressing, sarcastic, witty...and this is really only the beginning. Thank you to everyone who hyped this book up time and time again. Absolutely worth it and bringing me out of a slump.

Never in the history of inner monologues has anyone ever asked themselves more questions. Have I just read about too many capable FMC's lately? Odessa is giving Bella Swan and it's a struggle to find anything enjoyable about that right now.

Haven't had much reading time lately but I'm absolutely devouring this whenever I have the chance and I'm loving it. For a first book that is clearly setting up major plot points for the next books and is less action focused, I love how this still grips me and I'm invested in basically every character's story.
