taking icarus home - 2/5. nothing here to grab me, and i’m of the opinion that if you’re writing in second person, that perspective should have a payoff (which this did not)

oh no i got tricked into reading litfic about women falling in love with men, im so bored

i relate so much to agnes it’s a little unsettling

ratlines and the fire burns anyways - these are more like little introductory concepts rather than fully fleshed out stories

prerequisites for the creation of a possible predicted world and trees at night- both fine but nothing that will stick with me

so far this book has felt extremely like a YA coming of age with very little plot

The Apologists - this was so good, a sometimes dark, creative scifi mystery story (novelette?)

Jade Fighter - 3/5, this kinda just reminded me of wreck it ralph but in a weird way, tho i did like the passing commentary on colonialism

the stone played at tengej - 1/5. didn’t particularly like this story or the writing style. and i don’t know the author’s background but it felt like they really wanted to show off their japanese and go knowledge in a way i found annoying and weird and not quite accurate. like, a meiji emperor addressing someone else as “-sama”?? uh huh sure
