A slog! Finished ‘Old Sarum’ but just too long and slow. Interesting historical whimsicals but tooooo long.

Wow! What a book! On par with Moby Dick and a book you can’t discard and I’ll have to read again next time I return to Copenhagen, or even Marstal. I read it because I was visiting Copenhagen even though it’s only briefly in the novel. It’s a wonderful imagined history of the Danish port from classic seafaring days of sea-dragons and sea-dogs on maritime charts to WW2, spread over many generations.
