I am quickly falling in love with this book and its characters. As a classical music lover and a classical musician myself, it is particularly compelling. I also loved the description of Adrian Leverkühn’s family, especially his father, who for some reason reminded me of the character of José Arcadio Buendía in One Hundred Years of Solitude (their affinity with natural sciences and alchemy, for example).

I am really enjoying this book, I find it very gripping and smart! I do not want to finish it too soon, hence my very slow reading pace
