Undeniably powerful and meticulously written, but its relentless focus on extreme abuse and suffering became overwhelming rather than illuminating for me - this novel does not offer reprieve, redemption, or relief. While I understand that this is central to the book’s intentions and to its central character, it ultimately isn’t a story I can stomach finishing
