Just hearing about Merrick Garland’s role in the McVeigh/Nichols case almost six years removed from the 2016 election still fills me with rage. Fucking Mitch McConnell.

Better for Toobin to have said that McVeigh never found that corner of the early Internet. See Robert Evans’s The War on Everyone and Bringing the War Home by Kathleen Belew.

2 hours into the audiobook and Toobin states with egregious error that the Internet and “social media” weren’t a thing for the extreme right in 92 at best this is an understatement and at worst showing his lack of research. LibertyNet and Stormfront were already massive bulletin boards for the KKK and Neo-Nazis. I hope this isn’t a sign of Toobin underestimating the political atmosphere of the times.
