My parents listened to the audio book — they promptly bought me, my brother, and Kerr a copy each. Normally I don’t like glorified “self help” books but I really like the way she lays things out. And it’s motivated me to try to figure out what I’d like to do next with my life to help me get further along in my artistry.

Y’all I am trying to stay locked into this book cause it really is so good but I read like 30 pages and literally feel like I’m falling asleep. Am I getting older?????? Jesus. Anyway, Newt and Gus are my favorites so far. Lorena kinda pissing me off 🤨 idk maybe that’s a hot take but I fear she is so bleak. Dream bigger than San Francisco sweetheart. (She lives in the desert guess I can’t blame her)

Really loving this book so far — it’s so detailed and yet so horrible and scary and I love how a lot of the sections are short and scattered because it’s fun to put the pieces together

Cannot wait to see guinea Pig Percy in season two LMAO

The tone of this book is kinda bland. It’s a lot of telling and I wish it were more showing🤷🏻‍♀️ we’ll see though, I just need an easy read rn

Oh my god. Those last two stories were so brilliant. Especially the evolution of my brother. Any older sister with a little brother would cry during that story. I really love Zhang as a writer, these stories are really well written and thought out

That last story was fucking insane. Literally insane. In a like, horrifying and scaring way. I really liked the first story though it was good. And I think its interesting that the stories connect.

It’s definitely felt fever dream-ish… not a single story has felt rooted in anything real lmao
