DNF - really disappointed because I like The Final Strife series so much but this book is not it for me...
(the protagonists are supposed to be in their late 20s like 28 if I remember correctly but they act like teenagers and really it would've been better if it had been YA, at least I would've been more understanding of the MCs, also way too predictable sadly)

Putting an historical note at the beginning so you can better situate the story and understand the context... is this book flirting with me??

I don't understand shit but I feel like Tamsyn Muir's a genius
I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the first book but I definitely sense its potential to destroy me (once again)

It's frustrating because I think I might like the story and I'm very happy to read about full grown adult lesbians (not 17yo for once) + I like the whole magician Vs alchemist story but... I think there's something wrong with the tense? English isn't my first language but the way it's written is so confusing to me I can't properly focus on the story.. it's like it switches randomly between past and present idk

I'm mesmerized by this book. Again, why did I wait so fucking long to read it?? Pure genius, I'm loving that plot so much. I'm just really scared to read it too fast...

world building is fine, but Nehal is too much for me (and Giorginna isn't enough I guess)

Idk if I should DNF but I'm feeling really bored... I might put this on hold but if I do so I'm not sure I'll ever find the motivation to pick it up again 😬

When humans are turned into mermaids, do they just instantly learn their language? It seems to be only the language of the mermaid who turned them since all the mermaids don't share the same language depending on where they live.
Also I still don't know anything about how mermaid sex works and I need to know.

This book is so well written... I really like all the eerie dreamy vibes, it's like reading a family album and some pictures are misplaced so you have to tell some parts of the story at the wrong time but you're all remembering and it's nice and nostalgic
This book is sooooo nostalgic it aches

I didn't expect this to be so well written, I love it so much. I love it when narration feels like random memories, not necessarily in the right order but you still managed to get the story right
