Finished Act One Brandon Sanderson has a very cinematic writing style that invokes great moments of action and battle, but man his characters and dialogue are so cut and dry. Kaladin reads like a 14 year old edgelord’s OC, but that said, I think I like Shallan’s chapters so far more than what I read in The Final Empire.

Peeking at some of the reviews already, I’m completely validated at people saying the first 300 pages are slow, because I found myself thinking “…for a Pirates of the Caribbean story, not much has really happened????”
