This women has no investigation experience or substantial connection to the victim and yet she goes around playing investigator. Are we supposed to root for this sad nosy women who is burying her grief by interfering with peoples work?

I can’t describe in words how impressed I am with the authors ability to encapsulate the masculine ability for pushing emotional labor onto the wife and mother. One of the best representations of aging marriages that I’ve seen. The book seems to be drawing on a bit when it comes to Liv’s writing but the rest is fantastic.

First half was like a weird drug trip if I was a women hating 50 year old man. Now that I’m in the latter half it’s getting better. Also this book uses the word “sphincter” way too much.
