The 12th edition of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate just came out, and it is a MASSIVE upgrade, particularly in etymology. Also includes words from everywhere that speaks English. Also the first in history to use data analytics to learn what people look on their site most and expand on them in the print edition, instead of the other way ‘round. Uncertain about such extensive usage notes.

Fun fact: Opposite to the Talmud, which has a Jerusalem set that is older and much less famous than the different Babylonian Talmud, the epic of Gilgamesh has an Old Babylonian version and a Standard version. Basically all translations come from the latter.
