Vulcans?? Really??

The amount of violence and cruelty should have turned me away fairly quickly, and yet I will likely finish reading this book. Something about it reminds me of Ann Leckie’s The Raven Tower.

Had to pause for a while because I just couldn’t with Chloe. Came back to it on my morning walk and the plot has shifted to something less unpleasant for me.

Kinda lost me at about 2/3 of the way in, but I'm continuing to read because I still want to know how everything is resolved. But wow the feelings this is evoking are not pleasant. Also, I'm a few years older than the main character's mom, and I have to keep reminding myself of that to put things in context.

Spent my lunch break listening because I have to know what happens next!
