Edmund is written so well. When I read Divergent I thought Four’s character was written almost better than Tris, and that Veronica Roth really understood him. I guess I feel the same way with Alex in The People We Meet on Vacation.

This is reading better for me than Sense & Sensibility and the other Austen novels that I can remember, but I am not too fond of the plot so far. It’s Jane Eyre mixed with Cinderella lol. I’m loving Edmund tho! I’m not a horse girl, but he got her a horse? Cute.

Going good, I think my favorite chapters were more toward the beginning with Lisbeth’s introduction. I’m annoyed by Cecilia, I don’t think the author knows what to do with her, Mikael is not that interesting so this “love triangle” wasn’t believable, glad Cecilia left it. This is my kind of book club book, lots can be discussed!

“She felt the loss of Willoughby’s character yet more heavily than she had felt the loss of his heart.” Sweet Marianne. I know that feeling all too well.

Not surprised IKEA is mentioned by a Swede author, but I am amused to see it in such a serious novel. The tone and writing style is so well done.

I’ll be following along to the audio with my paperback so I don’t get lost in this complex plot. Excited to be braving this classic!

I am loving this memoir. Joy Lenz’s encounter with Jesus brought me to tears. Looking forward to hearing how her story continues to unfold.
