I have been reading this book since the start of the year to keep pace with my reading of a daily chapter of the Old Testament. It provides a very helpful historical, archaeological and theological context to the religious text and is beautifully illustrated.

I'm very much enjoying reading the novel - the movie is proving to have been such a faithful representation that I can clearly visualise every character and scene in the book. Despite knowing the story I am finding myself excited, moved and eager to read on - such a very well written work of science fiction it is completely real.
