The number of typos in this book is horrendous. There is a typo within the first two paragraphs. Lydia Medina didn't even attempt to proofread. What an insult to her readers.

This is such a dumb reveal and reason. The whole trilogy has been ruined.

This reveal with Merlin is kind of ridiculous. I feel like we jumped the shark

This book feels like a repeated gut punch. I am reading it so slowly because I need to take breaks so I don’t spiral into sadness.

Margo is a sociopath. Entitlement is one of the things I absolutely hate so I hate Margo. Not in a fun hate way, but in a hate hate way. I want to DNF but people really liked this book. Audiobook will save me 🙃

The number one thing I hate most in books is mismarketing. I immediately dock a star.

This book is about what how an abusive relationship impacts a family. Three scenarios: mom stays, mom leaves with the kids after years, or mom leaves with the kids immediately.

The boy’s name doesn’t matter. His name is basically a title for the three different scenarios so you can keep track of which story you’re in.

This is very cold of me but I don’t understand why Arvelle doesn’t marry Carrick so her brother can get the help he needs and they can move to a warmer climate. Carrick knows she still loves Tiernan so it’s not like he’s going in blind. She’s willing to go into an arena to die but not marry a man she likes as a friend but doesn’t love???

I’m having a decent enough time now, however it is very clear that Finance Nick is not the right person for her. They have different values and that does not make him a bad person, but it does make him not the right person for Kay. Also, I don’t know if Farmer Nick is the right person for her. Right now they feel like better friends than romantic partners 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not going to go as far as to say Finance Nick is in a red flag, but he definitely has some baggage. I think that he is coming back to a relationship with Kay because it feels comfortable and his heart was broken.

I am waiting for farmer Nick to enter the chat. So far, I am not enjoying this book. Kay is delusional with her “the universe put finance Nick in my life again.” All I’m seeing are 🚩

You can have amazing sex with someone but they not be the right person for you 🙃

Why is Naomi so mean? Nicolas seems to want to work on their relationship and their lack of communication has caused a lot of problems. Every time he says something nice to her, she twists it.

I’m now understanding where this book was going. The first 50 pages I was confused and annoyed. Turns out they are both horrible people and they’re going to screw with each other. As long as this doesn’t veer too childish, I’m going to eat tha is up. I love the pettiness microtrope.

Ugh, Nicolas is just as bad. Why are these two people even engaged. Once again, THEY ARE NOT EVEN MARRIED! Why did this engagement even happen?!

WTF is this book. They’re not married - only engaged. Why did Naomi even say yes when he proposed?! I can’t wait to see how the author redeems this relationship because Naomi is terrible.

Why is so little happening? This book has so much filler I’m shocked the reviews are high. I’m assuming a crazy reveal is coming that’s making everyone forget how bad the first half of the book is 🙄

This one is starting off cute. Noah being immediately into Hazel is adorable. I’m hoping it doesn’t get boring.

I can’t read Kristin Hannah books. I feel like I’m being emotionally manipulated. Kristin is such a good writer, I wish she didn’t lean into “how much crap can I pile onto one person.”

I’m bored 🥱 I like cozy romance but the MCs just aren’t interesting.

Ok I may be coming around to Olivia. She did not blame Savannah for Ferris. All hope is not lost for this book 😬

Why does Ferris like Olivia? She’s insufferable. Also why does the author write his interactions with Savannah as having an undertone of flirtation? It’s weird. Ugh I am hate reading anything involving the family and Ferris. For a book about editing a romance novel, Melissa Ferguson’s editor needed to tell her the family and Ferris needed a rewrite 🙃

This family makes me want to DNF this book. I like Will a lot so I’m probably going to keep reading, but there is no world in which this book can get anything more than three stars from me. Toxic, gaslighting family members who no one has an issue with piss me off so much. They completely ruin a ROMANCE book for me.

Savannah‘s family is the absolute worst. I don’t know why the author thought it was a good idea to write such a crappy family into the story. I cannot believe her parents basically told her to get over it when her boyfriend of eight years decided to date her sister and then a few months later they got engaged. This is the most gaslighting, toxic family.
