Great. Easy to read but packed full of info and lots of references. Ryan Grim really has a way of making politics riveting . He also manages extremely detailed writing while keeping the big picture visible. Anyone could just pick up this book and jump right in, no previous knowledge necessary.

Just finished The Girl Next Door by Kamila Shamsie. It was wonderful. I always find it uplifting to read/watch something that portrays women shedding their rivalry & finding solidarity as well as appreciation for each other & themselves.

It took a while for me to get into because of the narrator’s naïve and pure voice. It was worth it because once he starts to have interactions, his reactions are moving and relatable on a very basic level. Also found some of his perceptions hilarious and laughed out loud. For those of us who grew up around this time period and get all the references it feels that it is a real encapsulation of that time.
