I checked this out at the library. But so far, this is a book I might have to buy. Very technical, but such good insights. Although I might disagree with some stuff, he raises good questions… chapter 2 asks, “what is ioudaismos?” And chapter 3 asks “Who actually believed “justification from works of the law”?” As no ancient document uses the phrase, besides 4QMMT (and Paul), but both use it differently

Second half - unconvinced but Thiessen does do a good job challenging old views and making you think, which is always helpful
