Onto book two

Done with the Moby Dick portion of this NC edition, there is still almost half of this book left to read - this will take a while, but is very interesting

Have been reading this with r/ClassicBookClub, it has been so hard to only read one chapter each weekday. Almost done now!

Just saw Moby Dick on stage adapted by Robert Wilson and I am in love. Sadly didn’t finish my re-read before then, but I will renew my efforts with vigour tonight

A bit too descriptive for my aphantasia brain to be able to relax while reading. The footnotes help massively with my gaps in theological and Melville-Biographical knowledge

I am really invested and just want to inhale the rest of this book

I like and dislike this equally and at the same time. It’s taking me longer than I had anticipated to get through this.

This will be a longterm project, I’m very impressed with this particular editors introduction and excited for a slow and thorough reading of the poems of my favourite novels’ author. ❤️‍🩹

This book makes me tense the fuck up, but I do “enjoy” it a lot. My first King! And I have not seen the movie either. The downside: My anxiety overall is so bad at the moment that I am sort of anxious at anything I read that involves the least conflict or disharmony, and picking The Shining as my current book may have been counter-intuitive.. but oh well. Guess I will just be taking some breathers now and then.

Wouldn’t recommend to experience this for the first time in audio book form, it is soooo hard to keep track of, i have had to rewind more times than i can count. Andy Serkis does a fantastic job but it doesn’t help that almost all of the elves are named the same damn thing just with different suffixes 😭 drives me insane. If I could do it over I would read it first, and listen later…

AhHhHh nothing makes me quite as tense and jittery while reading than the anticipation of emotional conflict 😭 there is only a very narrow subset of disharmony that doesn’t make me go !!!
Soooo…. Please I wish Jefferson would disappear forever. I knooow books need conflict but I will complain about it anyways! This is a very good book and exactly what I was looking for ❤️‍🩹

This book is infuuuuriating. I like it better than I thought but honestly! It’s awful having already read the Hunger Games beforehand. Makes me tense up while reading most of the time. “I trust you.” Well. You shouldn’t. I like antagonistic protagonists (think Bartimaeus) but knowing what’s to come for dear “Coryo” is too much for me and my craving for peace. Also miss on page Tigris a lot!

8 hours into the audiobook and the cliffhanger from book one is still left hanging :D this is a reread, but I remember my frustration the first time around. Love Andy Serkis narration so much!

Not as good as the first book but i am glad i am finally finishing this. I swear I abandoned this or the next volume midway through at one point in my childhood.

I loveeee Andy Serkis‘ narration! The singing too, it’s so calming for some reason

This is an incredibly interesting book. I fell down a massive rabbit hole after seeing Cabaret in theatre in Berlin recently, and after reading Isherwoods Berlin Stories have finally come to this memoir… and am delighted and amazed by its content!! I have been reading a lot of supplemental literature alongside this book, and i wish i could talk to someone about it 🥲 i have so many feelings.

I forgot about this books release and now i am beyond excited!!!! It was about time for some more historical romance out of KJ Charles‘ quill to delight me!! Getting started on this ASAP

Scared of breaking my heart with this, so i‘m taking it slow.
