Paused around Feb 4 when it was returned to the library

Picked up again to fulfill the “You Once Started But Never Finished” category for the 2019 Reading Challenge.

Had to pause as my library loan ran out and there was a waiting list. 07/15/19

I’ve tried this book at the recommendation of a friend. I just can’t finish it. If you love Douglas Adams you’ll like this book. I may be random but apparently I don’t like my books to have constant nonsensical non-sequiturs.

I'm done. I guess Ellison's short stuff is not my thing.

Finished Inside Out. Loving it.

“Hell Hath No Fury” by Sherilynn Kenyon -- at least three dangerous women in this story. Another one worthy of the read.

- “Second Arabesque, Very Slowly” by Nancy Kress The best story so far; on that stays with you after it's over. Post-Apocalyptic society where two youth rediscover and try to claim ballet for themselves.

“The Girl in the Mirror” by Lev Grossman - I love his Magicians books but this Brakebills story isn't as good. :(

“The Girl in the Mirror” by Lev Grossman - loved The Magicians but not as much of a fan of this Brakebills story.

“A Queen in Exile” by Sharon Kay Penman - This was more historical than the other stories. Once that was understood it was pretty good. Definitely a strong female.

"Shadows For Silence in the Forests of Hell” by Brandon Sanderson - 4.5 out of 5 Awesome family of women kicking butt.

I Know How to Pick ’Em” by Lawrence Block More of a dangerous man story. Very sexual story with some disturbing content. Definitely didn't pass Bechdel.

“My Heart is Either Broken” by Megan Abbott Truthfully I fell asleep. My husbands review was "Huh." Passed Bechdel test, fortunate since protagonist was a woman.

“Wrestling Jesus” by Joe R. Lansdale Ok story with lots of amusing similes. Vulgar language but I appropriate for the character. However it was a major theme fail for this anthology. It was 40 min before the "dangerous woman" was even mentioned! Why did the editors led the book off with this story (or even include it?) This story doesn't know how to pronounce Bechdel.

Keith and I are listening to this anthology together. It seems reasonable to me that stories in this anthology should pass the Bechdel test.
