I’ve enjoyed many Alistair Maclean novels and rescued this one by chance out of a pile of books headed for donation in 2026. Coincidentally, this book, copyrighted in 1980, is about oil supply issues.
Some good potential in the overall plot but plays out like a low budget action movie.
I still enjoyed it 😊

Hard to put down this book now….
Great detailed descriptions but not overly so. Makes me wish I was more knowledgeable about fishing.

Though there hasn’t been a lot of high drama or action it keeps me engaged for what’s to come.

Good to have a good read while it’s storming outside.

Enjoying this so far. Some peculiar punctuation and grammar causes me to read it over occasionally to understand the gist of what was written.

My kind of book… so far. Apocalyptic situation with humor 😊

Excitement and pace picked up. Wishing I could remember more from my early American history lessons!

Slow read (lots of terms from colonial times and Native American terms & names) but intriguing.
