Really hoping I don't get drafted in the next world war tbh

I'm liking this mixture of sci-fi war with classic war elements. Trenches, no electronics, no mans land etc. Also like the way the book is written, think im going to like this one a lot!

I hate torture scenes :'(

Now we've had all the setup this book is cooking, I'm getting the itch to read it all the time, that's how I know I'm gonna love it!!!

Hilarious that the Camden Jazz Cafe was name dropped after I was fooled into thinking I was going to a Jazz gig there the other week

Not even a hundred pages in and I can already tell how good the book is going to be, sort of glad I'm taking it slowly as I don't want it to be over too early

Just as Im warming up to this book I have to jump off and read something else!!!!

It's all going to come crashing down very soon isn't it...

Spicy scenes in books always make me slightly uncomfortable, might be because I tend to read on public transport...

There's something about the way the author describes things that gives the story this warm dreamlike feel to it.

I just want everything to work out for him but I keep reading, knowing it's going to go wrong again at some point :(

Not quite gripping me here Barbara, might not be your fault though, think I'm just a fantasy buff.

Maybe I just like Mary Sue revenge stories?

It's been a while since I've had a book that I can't put down, feels good to be here again. When I'm not reading it, all I can think about is when I next can. I love finding books where I would rather read than do anything else!!!
