Not gonna lie…strongly believe that this book should have been two books. I am struggling to get through the last couple hundred pages! It feels like the plot is dragging. I do love the slow burn, but I am starting to think "omg just do it already!!!" because it feels SO dragged out!

Thoughts up till Chapter 5: I have a theory that Jack Barlowe is somehow important to the venin. I love Andarna’s sass. I think Andarna is going somewhere with her idea that only her dragon fire can kill venin.
When tf is Violet going to be able to control the lightning? Also is this some kind of foreplay of “you should be scared” wtf ok Xaden, you just finish twilight my guy?

Reminds me of the typical cringey teenage thriller movies, like Unfriended, Friend Request, and Slender Man.
