So Violet says Xaden has to sleep in her room because "Turns out the remaining cadets had left all but the wingleaders' quarters untouched"? – But Xaden hasn't been a wingleader for almost a full year now, has he?? The author seems to forget he has long graduated. I hate when an author misses out details like this. It makes the story less and less convincing.

I think the author forget that she had already established Tairn knew about Xaden’s second signet. In Fourth Wing, around Chapter 19, Tairn clearly says, "Do not dare try and read me, human, or you’ll regret it," which strongly implies he was aware of Xaden’s abilities. But in Iron Flame, the author suddenly writes Tairn as having no clue about it. Feels like a loose plot thread.

Let me just say this b4 I even read further. Violet isn't as intellectual as the author tries to make her out to be. How come she hasn't figured out Xaden’s 2nd signet is mind-reading with all the clues since Fourth Wing? I suspected it even before I knew his 1st signet. And later, when I hadn't known it was possible to have two, I still had this lingering contradiction in my mind. How is she not putting it together?

How does this make sense? If you're going to argue about setting or not setting up wards because it affects the ability of fliers to channel gryphons, shouldn’t the first discussion be why that’s the case? That way, you could think of alternative methods to achieve the same result. But no one seems to question the core of the information. Instead, you all just charge headfirst into fighting without even doubting it.

Gosh, I’m finding this story harder and harder to stand. How is it that Violet and Xaden can’t share the same space without either having sex or feeling an overwhelming urge to? Like, seriously—every single time! Even when Violet is furious after a tense sparring session with Cat, which Xaden was used as the tool for Cat to fume Violet's rage, they can still suddenly shift gears to wanting sex in the grandest assembl

And he claimed he was familiar to Tibetan history and concept of Dalai Lama... How come he didn't know there's also hideous acts about appointing each Dalai Lama? In the past, it wasn't unexpected that the newly appointed, young Dalai Lamas would be assassinated and before Buddhism entered Tibet, Tibet was just another tribal kingdom.

Feel like he idolize buddhism too much. He thought that reincarnation seemed a fair explanation of what happened to the spirit after death... I don't think so at all although I'm quite familiar with the religion. Reincarnation is now just another belief, not proven fact)
