Watched the "Devil in the Family" documentary last week after this book came up in another yt video again. So now it's finally time - and it really is fascinating. In a painful way.

Sloan ist btw seit Monaten von Feinden eingekerkert, gefoltert, geblendet und sonstnochwas worden.
Aber nichts ist je eine Strafe, wenn sie nicht von unserem HELDEN kommt. (Incoming: eine der schlimmsten und selbstgefälligsten "unser Held, everyone" Szenen aller 4 Bücher)

See Rebecca Yarros, THIS is how you write small chapter interludes that go with the following chapter. Not like the "oh, character x has a never before mentioned power! Yay!" that turns out to be the deus ex lameass a few pages later bc we already got told about the badass secret thing.
Here? I was gripping my seat at what the interludes (and even a half sentence the chapter before!) told me and it was used so well!
