telenovela meets the princess bride. have yet to get to the “gothic horror” elements of the novel.

muzzle by cassandra khaw is by far the best story in this book. it is grotesque and eloquent.

not impressed with the first part, hopefully two is better….

me when i make a little skin friend

sometimes i forget this book was written in 2002 until i get yanked to reality through a dated definition of the term “meme”.

a meme is no longer as large as a philosophical idea. is the etymological source of the word meme truly based on a book about genetics? ohhhhh how the groundwork was lain…

perhaps pursuing the sciences has jaded me however i am growing tired of the flourish in this man’s writing. please give me something to work with 😭

i feel like there’s more cultural significance to the apple than comparing john chapman to the virginal dionysius of the american frontier

“Does god have authority over death?”

“[In reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey] The idea that a slab of black marble was responsible for human progress is obviously preposterous. It is almost as fanciful to suggest that a cognitive revolution occurred sometime between 70,000 and 30,000 years ago.”

i screamed you screamed we scrode

bro has a wife and a kid but honestly i can’t help but feel for both him and the mc like the situation is so emotionally charged no wonder they’re developing intense feelings for one another.
