I really like the sci-fi, it's surprisingly brilliant (I guess that's why they call Wells one of the fathers of sci-fi) but the quality of it is way higher than the quantity, you could replace the Martians with the Germans dropping weird little guys and it would change nothing. Hope next chapter has more sci-fi, not like this is not well written, just as it turns out not my genre, I catch myself zoning out a lot.

Genuinely kind of hard to get through. H'el sucks. I want to see more Supergirl although it kind of pains me to see her be groomed and taken advantage of. Kon is cool. Superman is very realistic, because I've met about a million assholes that act like that, he must've grown up on earth.

This version of Superman pisses me off, that's not Kent. His parts genuinely kind of hurt to read sometimes

Never felt more talked down to and like a child reading a comic than I do reading this.

So here's where the DCU got its panelling from. I forgot most modern comics read THIS fast. I get speedrunning the mythos of your universe after a reboot so you don't lose all your fans, it's just a bit jarring.

The managers are back yippee, but oh no the managers are back. Their sublot is irrelevant and annoying, it adds barely nothing to the overall narrative except to be a fun little comedy interlude. And I will say it is fun, but not when I'm this invested in my Gothic Horror. Insane tone shift took me out of it a little. We're kind of back now, but I'm afraid the story has probably already hit its high points

Kinda sad there's no back and forth between the managers and Erik anymore, but I guess that plot kind of reached its conclusion for now
The scenes of Christine ripping off the mask and Raoul being haunted by the eyes are delightfully thrilling. The opera atmosphere really helps this story, I can feel the dramatic music. Curious where it will go, constantly feel like I'm nearing the conclusion while only halfway.

The back and forth between the new managers and the ghost along with the dialogue throughout are incredibly fun. I love the perfectly romantic imagery, such as the skulls rolling towards Raoul. Glad I found another one of my type of book, although it hasn't scratched the Frankenstein and especially not Dorian Gray itch yet, but I'm sure there's beautiful tragedy to come.
