I’m gagged. Speechless. Gooped. Scalped. The story so far. Art school girl falls in love with her friend. Leaves her for a group of barbies conjuring spirts, falls into a deep depression, creates a male version of her friend then the original friend and male creating get together. Insane.

Why conjure spirits to then kill instead of just sleeping with regular men?

Samantha has fully drowned in the kool-aid. She’s with these girl high on quaaludes and conjuring spirits.

Finally a great original story. Obsessed is an understatement.

This book is amazing. The MC is a 25 year old woman who was easily taken in by a cult. Weird stuff is happening and she doesn’t care at all. Just dumb and insecure.

The Mc is kind of a loser but I’m rooting for her.

Hooked and interested.

The MC has some serious identity issues. Black girls are being kidnapped and mutilated but she’s constantly talking about how she was too white for the black kids and too black for the white kids 😒

The audiobook version is great but I feel like I’m missing certain details.

Interesting. I’m finally wrapped into the story 93 pages in.

The audiobook was the way to go. So far everything is a little depressing. Not a fan of the “my life is miserable” angle but it’s picking up quickly with small town drama.

Idk about this one. It might be too graphic.

Idk how else to say this but it’s wayyy too many words in this book. It’s too much going on.

Loved the show on Hulu. Already loving the pace and style of this book. I smell a 5 ⭐️ rating.

In the beginning of the book Dana had a softness for white men and thought somehow Rufus and her Ancestor Alice were in love. She’s now seeing they aren’t and questioning her own relationship!

Finally at the part the tv show left off on.

I loved the first season on Hulu and I wish the marketing was better. Like knowing it was a book written by a black woman in the 70s would have made the show more interesting. I also miss how short books use to be!

So at first the book was incredibly boring. Then it got spooky out of nowhere. Now it’s lowkey a horror thriller???
