As much as I love J Pipe, I find it almost amusing when he and others like him write about the theology of suffering. Some things I like about Lewis- 1) he acknowledges that pain is in a fact a “problem”, an obstacle that threatens belief in a good God. 2) he writes about pain from a perspective of having actually grappled with it, and on a large scale (WW2).
