I realized I’m almost done with the book and I’ve barley paid attention to the murder I’m just so enraptured by the characters and just reading their actions to solve the murder then actually caring about it myself. It’s like I know there’s gonna be some kind of plot twist but instead of trying to guess it I’m more interested in how the characters are going to find out about it.

God I love Joyce so much she’s so cute and I’ve never liked an old person more. Even though there’s a murder to be solved I’ve barley been paying attention to it and just want to know more about the characters each one is just so engaging.

I love the point of view switches and once Tony died I was so excited that the first murder had happened and was speeding up my reading so that I could see the investigation unfold between all these delightful old people. The writing style is really enjoyable so far too I love the way it reveals things and it’s also just funny.

Finally met the whole Leonidies family and wow what a cast of characters. So far I think Roger’s wife, Clemency, is the biggest suspect for who killed Grandfather. Though I can’t help but think maybe it was a group effort like in Murder on the Orient Express. There’s also the mishap with the will. I can definitely see where Knives Out took it’s inspiration from.

So far so fun! I love the dialogue and the way it’s written. I’ve never read an Agatha Christie and god am I enjoying it so far. I just love the directness in the way people speak to each other while still having mystery and withholding.

Interesting so far, first chapter really sets the tone of the book with the time period it’s in and the character interactions. It’s a lot of very real world things that would have happened back in 1829 and then the hint of magic that shows that’s there’s more to the world is fun. I think it shows a really well done example of how asian, especially Chinese, people were treating by the british.
