Rhadaway is finished with Medallion Status: True Stories from Secret Rooms
He needs to let the Maine thing go. That's why it took me so long to finish this. Listened to most and then stopped & had to return to DMPL. Got through the last hour or so tonight, overall glad I listened.

This is pretty ridiculous. I wish UNABRIDGED audio versions of Joan's first two books were available. I think I will try to finish this. The chapters are short and Melissa certainly has a unique perspective on life.

It’s upsetting how they don’t appreciate Drowsy the cat. I just heard the narrator say that a Japanese person had put something in a “bin bag” and threw it out “with the rubbish.” Never! Happened!

The Britishisms and pronunciations of sushi as sushy are waring on me. Can someone translate it again so I don’t have to hear Japanese characters, from Japan, saying they’ll “pop round” places, or that food is on the “hob”? Yer killin me, Small Island!

very close to DNF'ing, far too repetitive. I'm sorry this happened to her, but she needs to learn how to use basic twitter features to improve her experience online. She comes across as very stuck-up and like she needed to be humbled in some way, but i don't think the "Other Naomi" was the one to do it to her! I might switch to the paper book version so I can flip through and find any new conclusions.

I own this book but have been listening to the audiobook from Libby. Had to skip the anti-cat chapter. It makes you appreciate the good people we have here now! I was listening to it on a car ride, then stopped by a Wendy's for dinner and felt very connected to the person working the window,

Rhadaway is finished with Astor: The Rise and Fall of an American Fortune
Overall it jumped around a little bit, but not too bad, certainly not as much as other books like this do. An enjoyable listen. They went down some avenues I wouldn't have expected, the most rewarding being the life-study of the "other" John Jacob Astor who worked as a cigar roller in NYC.

Listening on 1.20x speed through my Libby app. The first chapter was rough going and went into harsh detail about beaver trapping, though the story of the Tonquin and Pacific Fur Company could be a book in itself. Anderson is a good reader as one would expect from a professional broadcaster, though he has the odd quirk of pronouncing the Mississippi River as Mis'sippi - perhaps some locals say it that way.
