Written so masterfully that sometimes you just cant help but pause and say “wow” out loud at the prose.

Giving this another go, last time I started it was in 2022! it’s hard not to compare to the show, which delivers more on yknow…actually evoking emotions. But the descriptions of the house are great and there’s still a good sense of eeriness

Having a good time! Wish there was a bit more atmosphere and the archaic style of speech is pretty inconsistent which is a shame, but its an easy read and the illustrations are quite cool!

Cannot lie im struggling thru this book…i think ive just gotten so busy and only having the time to read just 1-2 chapters a day killed the momentum for me😭 but will try to finish…i must…

Ch 54 ✅

Really enjoying this one! Leckie always stuns with building out these believably complex and lived in worlds, and its (for me) a fun challenge following the changing pov of a huge cast of characters and surveying the interconnected events from this wide perspective. There’s so much buildup and finally all the pieces are coming together…pleaseee stick the landing!

Rhysand propaganda is happening and its working

Listening as an audiobook while commuting!

Starting ACOTAR for book club 👀

I just realized this is in fact NOT the second book in the series, as i originally thought. Whoops

Very close to dnf-ing atp. The exploration of themes/characters honestly feels so shallow/dissatisfying… :( is this YA? Was this meant for adults??

I’ve had this one on my list for a few years and unfortunately feeling disappointed so far! For a pretty crazy premise it feels like we’re not exploiting the full potential of the world or characters. Prose is also not doing it many favors either :( hoping it gets crazier!!

I cried

Like a medieval The Last of Us: apocalyptic setting, grizzled soldier and the special girl he’s begrudgingly come to protect…but at the same time seriously so much more. It’s already been so wild in the first QUARTER, cant wait to see where things go

Not my usual fare but for book club!

Thought I would love this, started reading and initial impression was that it’d be a rough read, now we’re somewhere in between! There’s this interesting feeling that i’m looking at the ancestor of many other things I really like/read this year! (piranesi, house of leaves etc)
