the book truly dissects the soul of a post colonial african nation, with all its ambition, confusion and contradictions. the portrayal of corruption and disillusionment rly hit me hard 😭 n 1987 part was rly in full circle.. it’s crazy how chinua achebe is sooo good

personally think that assata deserves recognition alongside her more well-known peers, as the first woman to be included on the FBI's list of most wanted terrorists, she has a remarkable background, she is a strong and resilient woman. nevertheless, it is her humility in her narratives that makes her story much more relatable. it resonates with me so much
