So much info dumping. I cannot keep track

I really don't like the not like other girls things. It's very outdated and basically, all of the female man characters in every book does this. Even though they are literally like other girls. They are still gossiping and drinking. Martinis and watching magic, mike and doing everything that is traditionally girly. You can be a strong, independent woman character without putting down other women. Year of book

I kind of don't like how they're always lowkey, putting down women. She's not weak, like other girls and she's strong-willed yada yada. But she's actually pretty dumb.

Recording, all of the vile threats and things david is saying is exactly how to make her case more believable with HR. why would she not take it up??? That would basically solve for a problems. I know that the whole point is to have some sort of conflict

I know it's because some sort of tension had to be created, but I absolutely hate how the entire family didn't believe that david was the bad guy and abusing her. All the characters just kind of seem like idiots sometimes. You're telling me nobody in the friend group noticed anything, but when Gen confesses all of a sudden, they say yeah, we saw the signs?

I keep waiting for it to pick up and eventually get better. Emilia just walks around and things pretty much just falls into her lap conveniently. For all the fearful stories told about the princes, she is able to easily outsmart and defeat them even tho she is completely bland and not powerful at all.

She is back & forth. One minute she is brave and strong and skilled and stealthy the next she is weak and screaming her head off and can't perform a spell to save her grandma. One minute she is resolved to find Vittoria's killer the next she is not asking the right questions and being dumb & overlooking important points. One minute she is terrified of Wrath, the next she's apparently better than him and all his bros

We are constantly reminded about the circumstances, even though they don't even seem drastic at all. She was warned about the demons all her life but decides to spontaneously summon one without a second thought. And then afterwards she keeps on saying "the malvagi are here. Everything has changed. Our nightmares have come true". Then it's back to being unimportant, rinse and repeat

She becomes edgy and dark immediately after her sister's death. There's no actual development of her falling into being consumed by revenge. One minute she's the softer sister and one minute she is not and deciding to summon demons on a random Tuesday.
Writing is also "I did this. I did that. Then I did this. I thought this. I did this." The flow is staccato
